This is also from the city agenda.
Per the attached email from MoDOT Aviation, the requirements for doing so are now too onerous to allow the event.

[on-er-uhs, oh-ner-] Show
IPA
adjective
1.
burdensome, oppressive, or troublesome; causing hardship: onerous duties.
2.
having or involving obligations or responsibilities, especially legal ones, that outweigh the advantages:an onerous agreement.
There is nothing wrong with having the tractor pull at the
airport, we love having them. Any
activity at the airport is good for the airport as long as it follows the
rules. BUT the law places certain restrictions
on non-aeronautical activities, and it is apparent that the city thinks that
the rules are burdensome, oppressive, or troublesome and are causing hardship. One can only assume that the city thinks the
same thing about the rules that pertain to operating an airport. The last letter now makes it the fourth time
the FAA has tried to explain it in writing.
How many more times is it going
to take?
It must be burbensome, oppressive,or troublsome for the mayor to pay his personal property taxes. I hear he has not paid taxes on equipment he has on his property for years. If this is true should he even be the mayor? I thought the city needed more tax money for schools, fire, police and other things.Someone needs to check on this rumor.
ReplyDeleteIf this true why is he the mayor. I did not think you could run for office if your taxes were not paid by the filing date. Maybe the newspaper should do some investigative reporting.
ReplyDeleteIt's kind of ironic that the mayor is trying to close the airport to build a strip mall so the city can get more tax money and he does not even pay his own fair share. WOW!!!!! I wonder if the 150 out of 4800 people that voted for him know he is a tax cheat.
ReplyDeleteA call to the county collector's office reveals Mayor Blum has paid all of his personal property taxes for the past 5 years.
ReplyDeleteConcerned Critter
ReplyDeleteNobody said he didn’t pay but has he claimed everything?...... We shall see
This deserves a new post?
ReplyDeleteKeith ( I mean Concerned Critter ) somebody checked before the election and found that equipment that is on his property did not show up on his personal property declaration.
ReplyDeleteWOW !!!! Were did all this come from ?
ReplyDeleteCan anyone confirm this. I did not vote for Ron Blum and would like to know if this is really true or just someone starting crap.
ReplyDeleteWilliam. Check for yourself, its all public record. Start by by getting list of property claimed, then go check what he has on his property. Then tell us what you think, careful, you might be surprised.
ReplyDeleteThis is what the state law has on this.
ReplyDeletePersons in arrears for municipal taxes or fees shall not be candidates for municipal office, when.
115.346. Notwithstanding any other provisions of law to the contrary, no person shall be certified as a candidate for a municipal office, nor shall such person's name appear on the ballot as a candidate for such office, who shall be in arrears for any unpaid city taxes or municipal user fees on the last day to file a declaration of candidacy for the office.
I looked at Google earth and it shows all that equipment has been there for years. Guess that means he was not able to run for election the last time either. I wonder if channel 2,4 or 5 news would like this story ?
